
Biography
Dr. Christopher D. Walton is a transformative leader whose career bridges the worlds of education, ministry, business, and community engagement. With over 15 years of multifaceted experience, Dr. Walton is recognized for his unwavering commitment to academic excellence, spiritual leadership, and organizational advancement.
He currently serves as the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church Lauderdale in Memphis, Tennessee, where he leads with purpose, compassion, and vision—providing spiritual guidance, overseeing administrative operations, and directing impactful outreach initiatives that serve the broader community.
Dr. Walton's educational background is both deep and diverse. He pursuing Doctor of Ministry in Educational Leadership from Memphis Theological Seminary, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, a Master of Arts in Education from Union University, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from LeMoyne-Owen College.
His experience includes roles as Administrative Officer of Walton Law Group, General Manager in the restaurant industry, and Sales Executive at Enterprise Holdings, where he successfully managed multimillion-dollar portfolios and built enduring client relationships.
Dr. Walton’s dedication to service extends to numerous organizations. He is the Vice President of the LeMoyne-Owen College National Alumni Association, Chairman of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Prayer Breakfast, and a member of former Vice President of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc and current Director of Bigger Better Business Tau Iota Sigma Chapter His work in fundraising, mentorship, and alumni relations continues to open doors for future generations.
Awarded LeMoyne Owen College Young Alumnus of the Year (2024) and named a KIPP District Employee of the Month, Dr. Walton is a servant-leader committed to faith, integrity, and excellence in all areas of life.
